Frequently Asked Questions

Electric biking and driving on the Flemish West Coast: charging stations and fast chargers within reach

Whether you're traveling with an electric bike or an electric vehicle, the Flemish West Coast offers an increasing number of charging options. The network of charging stations is steadily growing, although there are still many different providers. Therefore, we recommend checking via an app on your smartphone where to find the nearest charging points before you set off.

Within a radius of 7 km, you can also find several fast chargers, especially in the parking lots of larger supermarkets. This makes it easy to quickly charge your EV while enjoying a break or visiting a local shop.

With these facilities, you can explore the coast with peace of mind, knowing that there is always a charging point within reach, whether you're on two or four wheels!

We understand that you are eager to check in as soon as possible for your stay. Unfortunately, it is not possible to do so earlier than the times indicated in the advertisement. This is not an arbitrary rule but a necessary measure to allow our cleaning team the time and space to carefully prepare everything and provide you with a perfectly cleaned accommodation. If everything goes smoothly and we are lucky that the cleaning team finishes earlier – for example, if a previous guest leaves ahead of schedule – we won’t keep you waiting any longer than necessary. In that case, we will send you the access codes as soon as possible.

To ensure everything runs smoothly and efficiently, we kindly ask you to respect the set check-out time. This allows us to thoroughly inspect the accommodation and prepare it for the next guests.

If you would like to extend your stay, you can inquire in advance about the possibilities. Depending on availability and scheduling, we will gladly check if a late check-out is possible.

Forgot something during your visit?
No worries – we're happy to send it back to you.
Since everyone has different preferences for shipping, and some people prefer tracked or signed delivery for peace of mind, we suggest creating your own shipping label through a delivery service of your choice. You can do this via bpost, or feel free to use another service that might be more convenient for receiving parcels from Belgium in your country.
You can easily create a bpost shipping label here:
Once your label is ready, just email it to us and we’ll make sure your item is shipped as soon as possible. Got questions? We’re happy to help!

This is a red line for us, and it is one of the things we want to enforce very strictly.
First of all, there is the aspect of hygiene.
We always provide the necessary number of linens and bedding. If more people arrive than expected, it is not possible for us to offer everyone a proper sleeping place or to provide a sleeping space that is not intended for that purpose, such as the floor or sofas.
This can also have consequences for the people who come after you, for example, if someone sleeps without sheets and the mattress or sofa gets dirty.
But that is minor compared to the aspect of safety.
Spare us the trouble, but in case of an emergency requiring evacuation, it is CRUCIAL that we know how many people are present in our building. That our guest would disregard this risk is not only irresponsible but also their own choice. However, we primarily think of the people who have to carry out a possible evacuation and their families.
If an evacuation is planned for two people, but suddenly there are four, they will have to take additional risks. That would be unacceptable.

To reinforce this policy, it is evident to us that in any case where a reservation was made via Airbnb or Booking, we will immediately inform them. This may result in your account being blocked. In any case, we will ensure that you can no longer book with us in the future. Moreover, we will also demand a fixed compensation of €100/night per person.

Illegal dumping is strictly monitored, and immediate GAS fines are issued if caught.

Where can you dispose of your waste?
At one of the many waste islands. The closest one is located right on the Zeedijk (the first street) to the left of the apartment, at 100m.
There are also glass containers where you can deposit all your glass for free, even without the badge.
How does it work?
We have attached a badge to the key you will find in the apartment. By holding this badge to the reader, you can open the lid and deposit your waste. You don't need to install anything or pay.

In popular coastal towns, free parking is virtually impossible. Availability largely depends on the season and the time of your visit. Keep in mind that parking fees generally apply during weekends.
Koksijde
In some slightly more remote locations, you can still park for free all year round. In the low season, there are often more options during the week. For the most up-to-date information, it's best to consult the municipal website.
De Panne
On the outskirts of the municipality, there might still be a few unguarded free parking spots available, but relying on them is not advisable. Here too, consult the municipal website for the most reliable information.
